Collective Liberation is Britt Hawthorne’s online grassroots community committed to reimagining how educational spaces can create a stronger anti-racist democracy. Collective Liberation is set out to challenge and transform current policies and structures so the learner and adult can reach their fullest potential.
Britt’s growing community is aggressively rethinking the institution of school as we know it. They work to unpack the nostalgia that perpetuates white supremacy, patriarchy, and heteronormativity. They seek a critical lens to humanize each learner’s experiences by expanding hearts and minds through sharing perspectives.
Britt intentionally offers a low-cost method that allows the maximum number of people to have financially accessible anti-bias and anti-racism resources. When more people have access to these resources, we all benefit by living in a more equitable and just society.
